Lake Hiawatha Fishing Derby
Woke up this morning to absolute perfection. Sun shining. No clouds. No wind (amazing!) Birds chirping. Temperature near 70 by 10:00 with the promise of warmer weather to come...that is until about 1:00 when the clouds rolled in. Just in time for...
Each year we meed up with Mark, Faye and Carmen for our annual expedition to the Lake Hiawatha Kids Fishing Derby. We've had a good time doing this the last couple years, and today was no different. Just that the stinking weather had to turn on us. We set out from home in shorts and t-shirts, by the time we had arrived at the Derby we had on sweatshirts (only 10 minutes away) and after the initial cast we had slipped in to jeans. We hung out on the beach for a minute as the wind picked up and the cold air blew in...and then the rain started. Other than the fact that Rylee was the only one to catch a fish, we still had a great day.
