Band

Brooklyn and Rylee have both joined their school band this year. Brooklyn is playing clarinet and Rylee trombone. Here is a little clip of a practice session with some friends. Truly beautiful music!

Volleyball

Introducing the thus far undefeated 7th Grade Mobridge-Pollock Middle School, Lady Tigers Volleyball team.
They may be a little silly,
OK, they may be a lot silly, but these girls know how to get the job done.

Congratulations on 1st Place in the Gettysburg Volleyball Tourneyment last Saturday (9/25/10).

Summer Summer Summertime (The Rest)

The rest of the summer was filled with:
Rylee's 10th Birthday

Adapting to a new pet.
 Lots of friend time.

And lots of time at Lake Oahe.

And then, sorrow of all sorrows, it was back to school day on August 19th. Rylee entered 5th grade and Brooklyn 7th.

And summer is over. :(

Summer Summer Summertime (Grandma and Grandpa come to visit!)

So the girls rode home from Salt Lake with Ryan's parents and had a blast. They were exhausted from their 3 week vacation and 2 day drive, but had so many laughs with Grandma and Grandpa on the ride. While Debbie and Randy were here we showed them our town, went to the carnival, picnicked at the lake...and then took them to the Big Town of Aberdeen! Home of Storybook Land. We just knew that Grandma would LOVE it!
We spent the night in a hotel.

Where Randy was able to show off his MAD slam dunk skills!

Next morning we hit the mall for some shopping. Went to Eclipse. (Girls LOVED it, Ryan and Randy HATED it, I laughed a lot, and Debbie slept.) Then we were off to Storybook Land.
We nearly lost Rylee to this vicious lion. Good thing Grandpa was there to save the day.

This picture was taken especially for Brandon and Jenn...and their first born...Yogi.

Ryan and the girls went off to see the wizard...

And Randy did his best to embarrass Rylee beyond the point of no return.

We were right about Debbie LOVING it. So right, in fact, that we were able to talk her into a bare foot bike ride through the zoo.

Before they had to leave, we celebrated Rylee's 10th birthday, a little early.

And Ryan got some much anticipated Chess time.
We had a wonderful week with Grandma and Grandpa. Thinking they should come for Christmas...Hint Hint!!

Summer Summer Summertime (Salt Lake Post)

After the lake, it was back to the madness of the city. Wow, I forget how much things like traffic and lines at a grocery store suck up all the time! We were able to spend some time with my dad and Paulette, Grandma Kimball and the Muir's in between the traffic and crowds. Sure do miss our family, but we are definitely small town folk now.
Some highlights:
We were lucky enough to be in Utah at the same time as my cousin's kids. Jaxon and  Molly.  We spent the day at the cabin, riding 4-wheeler and hiking.

We were also in town at the same time as "My Boy" Landon!

We did some swimming with Jenny's boys, Miranda and her boys, and Crystol and her crew.

Break time at ARUP with Miranda, Crystol and Meagan.

Complete with a Sunny-D Chugging contest. Funny thing is, Sunny D is not as delicious as Crystol and I remember it from Middle School.

Timpanogos Caverns...I love my mountains!

Goofing off with our Muir family! Got the whole crew together one night. Cousins, Grandpa, Aunts and Uncles. My has this family grown since the days when I was the only in-law!

I also got me some "Beaner" time with my worm eating niece.

We're Favorites!
I also got to take in an awesome Yoga class with my Dad and Paulette. Thankfully, no pictures were taken. Me + Downward Facing Dog + Camera = Not a pretty site!

After a fun filled week, Ryan and I headed back to the real world of jobs and house cleaning, while the girls stayed an extra week and prepared for a road trip home with Grandma and Grandpa Muir.
