Dance Night

Despite the 12 inches of new snow...we had a performance at a basketball game tonight. I thought it would be cancelled, but thank goodness it wasn't. Rescheduling is a pain. Anyway, I had two groups dancing. The Wee Petites (Kindergarten - 1st grade) went first and did their "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" routine. They are so cute. They really don't have to do anything but walk out in their pink tutu's and the crowd goes crazy! Ryan, the official Carrington Just For Kix Photographer, snapped a few shots for me.
Getting ready to go on. Dancing the night away. Despite the fact that they didn't have to do much to look good, they danced amazingly. It was the first time for a lot of the little one's and I didn't have any crying. Amazing. Next was Mini Kix (4th and 5th grade. Brooklyn's group. Yes, she's wearing make up. Just to perform. They did their disco routine to "Boogie Fever". They did awesome. Especially since it's been a couple weeks since we had a practice.
There were a few mistakes, but nothing that can't be ironed out before competition.

After Christmas

It was a day of recovery. I was so freaking tired! We did make it to the bowling alley at some point, and then we went to see Bolt. Then this morning we got up early
and drove the guests to Jamestown so they could fly home. After they took off, Ryan, the girls and I kicked it in Jamestown until Marley and Me was playing. We went to the show and just got home. Just so you know, I cried in the movie. See, my heart isn't the size of a tiny little raisin! I don't know about Andrew and Debo, but I have some tired kids.

Sledding on Christmas

We tried to get some rest on Christmas morning, but the kids were having none of that. It was a gorgeous day. Above 0 and everything. Sun shining, no wind. Perfect for sledding. The Utahan's still thought it was a bit chilly, but we hardy North Dakotan's were basking in the warmth.
Here are a few of my favorite close ups. Well, more than a few. You know how I love pictures. Andrew and Izzy walking across the hill. Cute little family. Laughing cousins.
A Christmas Story..Debo style. Big boy on a little sled.
Funny girl. OOOOHHHHH...That had to hurt. Wild daddy.
Another wild ride for Izzy.

We have a new record...

4:00 AM. That's what time the kids woke up. I tried every trick I had to get them to sleep a couple more hours. Santa hasn't been here yet, Grandma's too old to get up this early, etc. I read them stories until about 5:00, but then it was too much. We did a little more stalling. Waking up Andrew and Debo and Grandma and Grandpa. Getting breakfast in the oven and coffee brewing. By 5:30 they couldn't stand it any longer.
Andrew videoed them as we tormented them a little. We made them stay in the kitchen and we all went out and counted presents. Stockings first. Rusty says "Santa, I've been a good boy!"
Santa says, "Not completely, but you are kinda cute." Let the unwrapping begin. Thanks Papa for bringing everyone for a North Dakota Christmas. Ute Fans.

Breakfast.
Back to bed.

Christmas Eve

Our visitors arrived. Brick, Mom, Andrew, Debo, and Isaiah got in to Jamestown about 1:00 and then we headed back to Carrington for the festivities.

Christmas Cards

This is what I planned on sending out. Never got around to it. I'll think about doing a New Years card...but don't hold your breath!
